Another one bites the dust the panthers running game may be able to carry them to a great playoff run ! As long as the d is pitching shutouts they have a chance against any team in the rafl and with this new found attitude they a riding high

12 Rounds and the defense still is strong!

We have always had a good defense but I think now the Punishers have a great defense. After 12 quarters of football and 180 minutes, the defense hasn't given up a point! A SINGLE POINT and they have played perhaps 3 of the top 10 teams in the league. The defense is the story of this season with the revitalized running game being a close second. The defense on Saturday night was outstanding again holding the Knights out of the endzone and didn't give up to much. The one good play of the game was a skinny post that went for big yards but besides that the Knights offense was non existent and the only yards the defense really gave up were the yards the Punishers gave them on penalties. The Knights had good field position several times but big time plays by Thomas Grubbs and Kyle Anderson kept them at bay and out of field goal position. The darkside has added players like Thomas Grubbs, Johnny Moinz, Patrick Eustache, Salah Wali, Brad McKoy who have come in and filled big time roles. Some can be starters on other teams but come in and fit into the team concept of Coach Daves defense. The Knights defense was stellar as well. The lone touchdown coming on a 19 yard run from quarterback Quinton Dupree. Quinton led the team well making big throws and the right decisions throughout the entire game. His numbers wont jump out at you but his leadership is huge. With him being the quarterback the entire game he new he had a huge burden on his shoulders but through his college experience he was able to lead the team. The running game was strong again as Jerry Edwards led the team with 12 carries and 53 yards. With veterans Levon Mosley and Durell Bradley pitching in big time. "We have to be successful in the red zone. We were inside the twenty a few times and came away with nothing. The Knights are a GREAT team and there defense gave us fits. We were able to make some plays on some downs and the plan was to grind and take what the defense would give us." said Coach Jim. The Punishers are much like the Baltimore Ravens who won the Super Bowl. Great defense with and offense that just got it done. The Punishers are fine with that and we model our self after that team. The Punishers don't have the 30 point offense every week. We just come out and play hard nose football. Middlesex Vikings are up next and once again Another playoff team from last season!
